What is identity verification (KYC and KYB)?

Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) are identity checks required for regulated payment services. Why we do this - Reduce fraud and money laundering - Keep the platform safer for everyone - Meet legal and regulatory requirements KYC is for personal accounts. You enter your identity document details in the app, then complete identity verification with our regulated provider (SEFIDE). Non-Spanish tax residents also sign a tax residence declaration. KYB is for business accounts. We verify the company, directors, beneficial owners, company documents, and representative identity (video check for the person who operates the IBAN). During review, our team may ask for more documents in the app. Open Profile → Documents and follow the prompts. See Upload documents in the Documents tab. Most customers verify once. You may be asked again if important details change.

Verify your identity for a personal account

Personal KYC happens during Account Activation after you sign up. See How to open a personal account for the full flow. Step 1: Enter your details (onboarding step 2) In Customer details you type: - Personal information (name, nationality, date of birth, income, PEP status) - Identity document details: type (ID, passport, or residence card), document number, issuing country - Professional activity - Residence address (street, number, postal code, city) Step 2: Verify your phone (onboarding step 3) Confirm your registered phone with a one-time SMS code. Step 3: KYC and address confirmation (onboarding step 4) Tap Start KYC Verification and follow the on-screen steps with our identity provider. - If you are not a Spanish tax resident: after KYC you complete the tax residence declaration (electronic sign via SMS code). This confirms you are not tax resident in Spain. - If you are a Spanish tax resident: complete Start KYC Verification only. Step 4: Activate IBAN (onboarding step 5) Sign the account contract and complete SEFIDE provider consent via SMS code. If our team asks for more During review, compliance may request additional documents in the app, including proof of address if needed. Open Profile → Documents and upload what is requested. You will get an email when verification is approved or if we need more information.

Which ID documents can you use?

During personal onboarding you enter your identity document details in the app (type, number, issuing country). Identity is then confirmed through KYC verification with our provider. Document types you can enter - Passport - National ID card - Residence permit / residence card Requirements - Document must be valid and not expired - Name and date of birth must match what you entered in your profile - Follow the on-screen instructions during Start KYC Verification Not accepted - Expired documents - Driver's licences, unless the app specifically allows them for your country For business accounts, shareholders and UBOs who do not operate the IBAN may need to upload a passport or ID (both sides). The legal representative who operates the IBAN completes a video identity check. If you are unsure, ask support@moneybeat.eu before you submit.

Verification failed? How to fix it and try again

If KYC or KYB was rejected, it is often easy to fix. Common reasons - Blurry or incomplete photos - Expired ID - Name or date of birth mismatch with your registration - Missing pages from a business document If we ask for more documents during review Our team may request extra files in the app while your application is being processed. This is normal. Open Profile → Documents, read the request, and upload what is asked for. Compliance may request proof of address or other documents when needed. What to do after a rejection 1. Read the email we sent about the rejection. 2. Log in and open Profile → Documents. 3. Resubmit clearer documents using the tips in this help center. 4. Email support@moneybeat.eu if you need clarification. If verification is refused after review, your opening fee is refunded as described on our website.

Verify your business account (KYB)

Business KYB happens during Account Activation (6 steps). See How to open a business account for the full flow. Step 1: Company information (step 2 of 6) Enter legal name, TIN, activity, incorporation date, registered office, and financial profile. Submit for verification. Step 2: Directors and owners (step 3 of 6) Add legal representatives and beneficial owners (25%+). For each person enter personal details, ID details, activity, typed residence address, role, ownership %, and IBAN authorization. Submit representatives for verification. Step 3: Phone verification (step 4 of 6) Confirm the company phone with an SMS code sent to the legal representative. Step 4: Documents and people verification (step 5 of 6) - Legal representative who operates the IBAN: video identity verification and tax residence declaration (SMS sign) if applicable - Shareholders / UBOs not operating the account: upload identity document (passport or ID, both sides) - Power of attorney if required - Company uploads: articles of incorporation, tax ID certificate, deed of administrative body - Sign PEP declaration and beneficial ownership (TIR) electronically via SMS - Non-Spanish representatives may sign ANR (tax residence declaration) Step 5: Activate IBAN (step 6 of 6) Contract signing and SEFIDE provider consent.
